The Early Career Researchers (ECR) Working Group offers an entry point for early- to mid-career researchers to engage with the My Climate Risk (MCR) initiative. The group aims to foster learning, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across MCR hubs, while also contributing to the broader MCR agenda from an ECR perspective.

Main Activities

The group meets monthly, creating a space for discussion and peer learning. In the past, sessions featured an “honest trailer” format, where ECR members presented their research for open, constructive feedback. Starting in 2025, the focus of these sessions will shift toward exploring different methodological approaches to generating bottom-up climate information, as practiced across MCR hubs.

Current Projects

  • Development of a Python Package
The group is currently working on creating a Python package to support the use of dynamical storylines in climate research.

  • Collaboration with the BASE Initiative
In partnership with the BASE initiative, the group is contributing to work on locally-led adaptation and loss and damage in South America. A joint workshop is being planned for 2025 as part of this collaboration.
