EPESC-LEADER community is pleased to inform you of the launch of an inter-journal special issue (SI) entitled "Advances in annual to decadal prediction, projection, and attribution" for the journals Weather and Climate Dynamics (WCD), Earth System Dynamics (ESD), and Geoscientific Model Development (GMD). SI is aimed at enhancing the visibility and to establish links among the community papers from our activity and to papers contributed by the broader EPESC community.

This special issue welcomes research that addresses prediction, projection, and attribution of phenomena and events acting on annual to decadal timescales. This includes evaluating existing and developing new methodologies to attribute and predict changes and extremes driven by the atmospheric or oceanic circulation. We also seek advances that can lead to more reliable quantitative attribution statements to support the Global Annual to Decadal Climate Update and State of the Climate reports issued by the World Meteorological Organization, and to improved projections.

During the registration process it is important that the correct SI is selected and  there should be an option if you follow the links below:

The deadline for submission is 31 May 2028. Papers already under review can be added to the SI retroactively in most cases.
