banner SPARC WCRP's Core Project on "Stratosphere-troposphere Processes And their Role in Climate" (SPARC) is seeking nominations for new Scientific Steering Group (SSG) members to serve a four-year term from 2020. The SSG guides SPARC's strategic work programme, and candidates should posses a broad view of atmospheric science and climate change in addition to profound expertise in their area of specialization.

The deadline for nominations is 15 September 2018. To nominate or self-nominate for the SPARC SSG, see the information and online form on the SPARC homepage. The initial term of service is for four years (January 2020 – December 2023), with a possible extension of two years.

The SSG currently comprises 12 researchers from around the world with a wide range of expertise in atmospheric dynamics and chemistry. The SSG's composition takes into account scientific expertise, career stage as well as gender and geographical balance.
