Venue
The school and WSGIP meeting will take place in ERNAM school located in the airport compound in Dakar.
Even though these two sites are located within the compound of the airport there will be a pick up to take you to these places. It will be located after the baggage collection with a sign announcing the venue.
Visas
Participants must be in possession of a passport valid for at least 6 Months. Most travellers will need visas to enter Senegal. ANACIM will coordinate visa requests with the national authority delivering visa. To do so, you MUST send a copy of your passport (page with name and picture) and a copy of your itinerary (arrival and departure flights, dates and schedule) by email to Mrs Mamie Thioro Diouf (see above for contact details) and Ousmane Ndiaye (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) by 31 Oct 2016. You will get your visa upon arrival at the airport with assistance from one local member of the protocole

Weather
Although it is winter time, the weather in Dakar is relatively mild. In November temperatures in Dakar are between 23.1 and 29.7 degrees Celsius. Rainfall is very rare with an average of 0.2mm.
Electricity
The Senegalese electricity supply is 220/230 volts AC 50 Hz. Electrical adapters can be arranged on request but it is advisable for participants to bring their own universal plugs.
Bank and Currency
The currency in Dakar is Franc CFA (XOF) 1 US dollar is approximately 550 XOF. If you need to exchange money, please do so in the arrivals lounge of the Airport, at the bank or at the hotel. For the currency exchange rates, please check online. Banks are open from Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 16:30 with a break from 12:30 to 15:00 during weekdays and 8.30 -11.30 on Saturday. The main banks in Senegal are SGBS (Societe generale), BICIS (Paris bas), and in down town also CityBank. Major cards are accepted eg Visa cards and Master Cards.
Health formalities
Please note that Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required for many travellers entering Senegal. Please check this when applying for your entry visa or check if your country is listed for yellow fever control.
