By public transportation
- From Munich airport: take the S-Bahn (S1 or S8) to Munich and get off at Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof). Travel time is 45 min, trains leave every 10 min, see http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/homepage/index.html.
- From Munich central station: there is a train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (travel time ~ 1.5 hours). Here is a link to the German Railways (Deutsche Bahn, see http://www.bahn.de/pv/uebersicht/die_bahn_international_guests.shtml).
- At Garmisch station change to the white-blue Eibsee bus which will take you directly to the Eibsee Hotel (final stop). Travel time is ~40 min (see the bus schedules)
By car
From Munich: take the motorway (Autobahn) A95 in direction of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. At the end of the motorway follow the B2/B23 in direction of Garmisch / Grainau / Reute / Fernpass. In Grainau follow the signs to Eibsee. (approx. 1 hour trip). For more details, click here.
Taxis
A taxi from Munich airport to the Eibsee hotel (~140 km) costs around 210 EUR. A possibility might be to communicate with other participants before arrival and share a taxi with a few people.
