Since February 2018, WCRP has been a strong partner of the Transdisciplinary Research Oriented Pedagogy for Improving Climate Studies and Understanding (TROP ICSU), a global climate education project dedicated to collating and curating digital/ICT-based teaching resources that integrate climate studies across the curriculum of Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The teaching resources of TROP ICSU have local context but are globally relevant. For this reason, the World Meteorological Organization recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS), one of the lead partners of TROP ICSU, to extend their cooperation and joint activities in the area of institutional, scientific, and technical collaboration on climate change education. The aim of this collaboration is to achieve, inter alia, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals numbers 4 (Quality Education) and 13 (Climate Action), as well as to enrich the implementation of the One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership, through TROP ICSU and related activities. More information is available on the TROP ICSU website.

We can also report that the Young Earth System Scientists (YESS) community has joined TROP ISCU as a project partner. In addition to disseminating TROP ICSU project-related information and updates through their network, the YESS community will help in the scientific review and validation of the teaching tools. A list of all TROP ICSU partners is available on their website

If you are interested in being involved in the TROP ICSU project, please get in contact with TROP ICSU or subscribe to their newsletter.
