Requesting input for this year’s 10 New Insights in Climate Science 

New Deadline: February 9 2024

The 10 New Insights in Climate Science series, jointly developed by The Earth League, Future Earth, and the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), is an annual synthesis highlighting essential recent advances in climate change research with high policy relevance, from natural and social sciences. This influential policy report has been launched every year since 2017 at the climate COP with participation from the UNFCCC Executive Secretary.

We are advertising for a new team member at the World Climate Research Programme Secretariat with an entry-level P1 position that is primarily focused on communications. All details and the online application submission are available on the WMO Recruitment site. This is initially for one year, but we hope to secure funds to continue the post after that.

Abstract submission to the 3rd International Conference on “Natural Hazards and Risks in a Changing World – Addressing Compound and Multi-Hazard Risk” is now open. The conference will take place on the 12th and 13th of June, 2024, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A networking day exclusively for Early Career Researchers is also being planned on 14 June 2024.

Abstract submission to the 15th International Meeting on Statistical Climatology (IMSC) is now open. The meeting will be held at the Centre International des Conférences on the Météo-France campus in Toulouse, France, from 24 to 28 June 2024. Abstracts can be submitted free of cost. 

WCRP is calling for nominations for membership of the World Climate Research Programme's Joint Scientific Committee (JSC). Nominations are now open and will close on 15 March 2024. To find out more, click the heading above.

The Climate and Cryosphere (CliC) Core Project of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) is inviting applications for its Scientific Steering Group (SSG). SSG Membership may begin in 2024 or at the beginning of 2025 and is for an initial term of four years.
