1st CORDEX Workshop
on
Statistical Downscaling
26-27 September 2013
Trieste, ITALY

The meeting will be held at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP)
The Coordinated Regional Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) is a program activity of the WCRP Working Group for Regional Climate (WGRC)
CORDEX seeks to develop regional climate change projections for all terrestrial regions using both dynamical and statistical downscaling methods. The dynamical downscaling activities are well advanced, but to date the statistical downscaling approaches have yet to establish a concerted and coordinated initiative.
Recent funding has been made available to catalyze a community effort for statistical downscaling within CORDEX. The 1st workshop on Statistical Downscaling is the first in a series of three planned meetings. The purpose is to establish and implement an agreed framework for participation, and catalyze the first set of experiment activities.
The 1st workshop objectives are to decide the details of the experiment design, identify the criteria and modalities of participation, and establishing a core community of participants. The outcomes of the initial workshop will be used as a basis to draw in a broader set of participants.
The workshop is by invitation only |
