The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) officially launched the Year of Polar Prediction (YOPP) during the WMO Executive Committee meeting #69 in Geneva, Switzerland. In Brief: WCRP Director David Carlson gave a keynote presentation "Urgent Climate Challenges - Research and Modeling" at the Research Dialogue of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meeting in Bonn last week. The WCRP Community also presented five posters, informing SBSTA of relevant research activities by the science community.
