The World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) coordinates global climate science, delivering the data and insights essential for informed policy, economic stability, and sustainable growth.
This is a unique opportunity to meet the senior scientific leadership team of WCRP and understand their objectives and concerns for the future of climate science.
The Chair of WCRP, Tim Naish, one of the world’s foremost scientists on the Antarctic ice sheet and coastal inundation, will present WCRP and its work. A panel of senior experts will discuss the ramifications of this funding crisis for the macro economy, financial markets, global health, and security and geopolitics. The Secretary General of the United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Celeste Saulo, will provide opening remarks.
The second panel, moderated by OS-Climate Founder and former CEO Truman Semans, will present breakthrough technologies for climate adaptation and resilience that provide a bridge between climate science and real-world applications for governments, finance, and investing. An exciting new initiative will be revealed for the first time.
This event is by invitation only. The full agenda will be shared with invited guests.

WCRP looks forward to participating in the 2025 General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU). EGU 2025 is scheduled to take place in Vienna, Austria, from 27 April to 2 May 2025. The meeting will also be available online.
