Dr. Igor Shkolnik was appointed as a member of the WCRP Joint Scientific Committee (JSC) in 2019.
Igor is affiliated with the Voeikov Main Geophysical Observatory in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He is involved in the development and application of high-resolution climate prediction models, studies of regional climate change and variability, and impact assessments across regions of Russia, Central Asia, and the Arctic. Igor is working on bridging probabilistic climate projections and impact quantification. His experience includes acting as a leading and coordinating author of the First and Second National Climate Assessments (2008, 2014) as well as Risk Assessment Report (2017) for the Russian Federation.
